Mary and Elizabeth join in a sacred moment of friendship, sharing the intimate news that will change both of their lives forever. We step into the scene and are refreshed by wonders beyond telling.
Today, the story of the Visitation
is used in the readings of the day. Being it is the feast of the Assumption it reminds me of a story I heard once about a grade school child who thought that this feast day was called the Assumption because we assume that Mary is in heaven. Hopefully people will say the same about us someday, but for now, we join with others in sacred moments of friendship.
