Saint Joseph

In the month of March we celebrate one of the feast days of Saint Joseph.  Joseph is a figure from the Gospel stories, the husband of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. He is knownas the patron saint of workers and we think of him as a carpenter.  In the relief carving that I am showing I have pictured him in older years with his work behind him. The work is represented by some of the different tools that carpenters use.  His mission now is that of prayer.    We too in our older years, take on more the position of prayer and reflection with our life works behind us. Saint Joseph, 38" x 25" x 2"
